May 5, 2022 | Day 5: Growth

What is growth, and how do we measure it? We can see when a person, plant, or animal grows physically, and sometimes growth happens internally and takes time. We often refer to this as maturity, and we can see that someone has grown when they’ve previously been quick to anger, fast to speak, and slow to apologize or forgive. In my own life, as I’ve aged, I’ve mellowed. Things that used to rile me up have become less important. Each day becomes a rare gift, and it’s packaged in a 24-hour increment that I don’t want to waste. Growth to me now looks different than it did when I was younger, and today it’s more about being present, being grateful, and being humble.
