May 16, 2022 | Day 16: A Routine that Works for Me

Routines are something that are very meaningful to me. They help me create good habits in many areas of my life – my health, work, writing, and relationships. One daily routine I have is waking up at the same time. I take my dog out and breathe in the fresh morning air. I listen to the birds as they sing and chatter to each other. Then I go inside, feed my dog, do the dishes, and start the coffee. I drink the same drinks every morning – lemon water and coffee, sit in my massage chair in front of my mood light, and read the Bible. I start my day this way every day. It is familiar and creates a pattern that I can follow as my brain wakes up. When my massage chair cycles down, I get up, shower, get dressed, and go to work.
