Whenever I feel insecure, my response is to take action!

.

I used to be afraid of public speaking, so I applied for a teaching position at a local college. I didn’t feel confident praying for people, so I joined a prayer team. I was afraid to publish a book, so I self-published.

.

But there’s no way I can think of to persuade people to like my writing. Either they do, or they don’t. I can take action steps, including writing more stories, researching places that might be interested in what I write, and submitting what I write.

.

I bought myself a subscription to The Writer magazine, and they have a section that lists many publications seeking articles. I highlighted the ones that seem like a good fit. Now I need to take action and do it!

  1. Yes! I hear you on this one. This year I decided I would try to get some of my haiku in journals. I have had a few denials and my first acceptance! I hope you have many successful article submissions. Keep us posted!

      1. The print version isn’t out yet. But here is the podcast where they discuss the submission and read one of mine: https://poetrypea.com/s5e10-writing-like-jack-kerouac/ Thanks for your interest.
