Whenever I feel insecure, my response is to take action! I used to be afraid of public speaking, so I applied for a teaching position at a local college. I didn’t feel confident praying for people, so I joined a prayer team. I was afraid to publish a book, so I self-published. But there’s no way I can think of to persuade people to like my writing. Either they do, or they don’t. I can take action steps, including writing more stories, researching places that might be interested in what I write, and submitting what I write. I bought myself a subscription to The Writer magazine, and they have a section that lists many publications seeking articles. I highlighted the ones that seem like a good fit. Now I need to take action and do it!
Yes! I hear you on this one. This year I decided I would try to get some of my haiku in journals. I have had a few denials and my first acceptance! I hope you have many successful article submissions. Keep us posted!
Awesome! Post the link so I can check it out. Congratulations on getting published!
The print version isn’t out yet. But here is the podcast where they discuss the submission and read one of mine: https://poetrypea.com/s5e10-writing-like-jack-kerouac/ Thanks for your interest.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I’ll check it out tomorrow. Congratulations!
